Portfolio
A smarter way to eat, meal planning, nutrition tracking, and recipe discovery in one delightful web app.

Portfolio
FlavorFit set out to build a nutrition and lifestyle platform that users would actually enjoy using daily, not just install and abandon. The product spans meal planning, calorie and macro tracking, grocery ordering, recipe discovery, and community sharing. We handled the full product design lifecycle: research, information architecture, component design, and a comprehensive design system across web and mobile breakpoints.
Health apps suffer from the highest abandonment rate in the app store. Users start with motivation and quit when the interface feels like a chore. Every screen in FlavorFit had to balance data richness with visual warmth, turning a daily habit tracker into something people genuinely look forward to opening.
Research & Strategy
Diary studies with 18 participants across 3 weeks revealed that visual meal logging (photo-first) increased daily retention by 3× compared to manual calorie entry. We redesigned the logging flow accordingly.
Design & Development
React web app with mobile-responsive design. Custom calendar component for daily activity tracking. AI-suggested meal plans surfaced via a recommendation engine the engineering team built in parallel.
Branding Elements
Playful purple with warm cream and food photography. A custom 3D mascot character adds personality at key moments, celebrating milestones and providing encouragement on off days.
User Experience Considerations
Accessibility-first: all dietary goal displays include plain-language explanations alongside numerical data. Offline caching for logging meals without connectivity. Reduced cognitive load through smart defaults.

FlavorFit launched to 5,000 beta users and achieved a Day-30 retention rate of 61%, more than double the industry average for wellness apps. User-submitted recipes grew to 20K in the first two months, and the community forum drove a 34% increase in session length.
